We are committed to a diverse and inclusive festival – from the filmmakers who submit their films, to the content we showcase and the events we hold. The 9th edition of our festival will take place on the 17th-23rd October 2024.
We are excited to host this exclusive preview screening of BALTIMORE at Riverside Studios.
Based on the infamous true story of the English heiress who became a revolutionary. Debutante Rose Dugdale (Imogen Poots) enjoys a life of wealth and privilege, but her rebellious nature soon leads her down a dark path. Amongst the political turmoil of the 1970s, her sympathy towards the IRA’s conflict evolves into radicalisation, culminating in an armed raid on an Irish estate with three comrades. However, when her simple heist turns violent, is Rose prepared to face the devastating consequences?
Directors Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor and star Dermot Crowley, who plays Donal, will join us on stage for a live Q&A after the screening.

An incredibly warm and supportive festival. As an emerging filmmaker, you couldn't want for a better festival. The support they gave my film and the platform to get eyes on my film has been incredible.
Had a lovely time at the festival. The venue was stunning and it was a pleasure to meet so many other filmmakers and organisers so passionate about emerging film.
Great venue and amazing film selection! It was a real pleasure to meet a lot of likeminded filmmakers and enthusiastic organisers! Hoping to be back again for the next round!
A great festival and wonderful platform for emerging filmmakers. So delighted with our Best Documentary Award ! Very friendly team of organisers, and great industry talks.
Very much enjoyed being a part of the Barnes Film Festival with my film, Candle Cops. Great venue by the river with lots of opportunities to meet fellow film makers. It’s on my ‘go next year too!’ List! Enjoy!
Great people, wonderful screenings and a really positive and supportive vibe all the way through. It was great my film Speed is Expensive was selected... but then it won the Audience Award! Really looking forward to next year.
Very professional Festival. I'm so grateful that it gives young film makers a chance to show their work.
Thank you for selecting my Short Documentary film ‘Memories of Mortlake’ for the festival. It was a dream come true and it was lovely to meet the passionate Barnes Film Festival team!
Barnes film festival was such a beautiful experience which I highly recommend for all filmmakers. Thank you for having my film ‘My Own Personal Lebanon’ and I hope I will be able to attend the festival in the near future again.
The Barnes Film Festival is a gem. Highly selective, deeply creative and perfectly organized. You can tell they love what they do. It's a great place to discover rising artists, connect and enjoy cinema in its purest form.
Fantastic to see a team put a festival together for exactly the right reasons - supporting indie filmmakers, and sharing the love of film! A beautiful selection of films and a ton of interviews and workshops with industry greats like Neil Gaiman and Malcolm McDowell.
A festival that provides a great launchpad for debut filmmakers with their amazing patrons, judges and fantastic curation. The passion of the BFF team to deliver an outstanding event is evident.
I had a ton of fun here. Really well managed and everyone was lovely! Thanks so much for choosing my film as a winner 😀
What a fantastic festival. It was the best screening we've had a lovely cinema, engaged & supportive packed audience & super helpful festival team. I would highly recommend it. Thank you so much to all the Barnes festival team.
