Included in this shorts programme is the UK premiere of The Generators by awardwinning writer, director and BAFTA CONNECT member, Georgie Cowan-Turner with Rory Fleck-Byrne. Other shorts include More Flames produced by Climate-Spring that comically addresses the need for more sustainable filmmaking practices; and The Great Green Hope, is by awardwinning explorer, writer and filmmaker, Reza Pakravan. Two of the shorts from submissions from WaterBear, including Extract. Destroy. Repeat. a funny and clever animation about an unlikely hero standing up for the underwater eco system against corporate demands for profit. A short panel to discuss the film and some of the issues and concerns they raise will be hosted Neville Shulman CBE – explorer, writer and proud supporter of one of the Scientific Exploration Society’s Explorer Award grants – the Neville Shulman Explorer Award for Expedition Filmmaking. Guest on the panel are Georgie Cowan-Turner (Dir. The Generators), Sam Sutaria – CEO of WaterBear, Josh Cockcroft – Director Climate-Spring, Jack Cooper-Stimpson (Dir. More Flames) and Reza Pakravan (Dir. The Great Green Hope).
