We are delighted to be bringing two screenings of this summer’s smash hit British animation feature film, Kensuke’s Kingdom, to The Garden Cinema as part of our Impact Day and Youth & Family Day programmes on 26th and 27th October respectively.

When sceptical scientist Alice falls for reluctant medium Jay, she’s taken on an odyssey of love, loss and discovery that will turn her world upside down. Between the Lights is a romantic drama with a liberal dose of the supernatural, in which we visit our characters over three consecutive Christmases. It is set within the ancient walls of York and the stunning natural beauty of the Lake District.

Immersive Experience
SPATIAL STORYTELLING is a FREE immersive show, from 12pm until 6pm on 23rd and 24th October, that expands the potential of narrative space – to include virtual reality headsets and interactive media – highlighting how RCA students push at the boundaries of what form a story can take using the latest digital media technologies. NO BOOKING REQUIRED

Gala Opening Night Screening
The Gale Opening film for our five-day festival is Naqqash Khalid’s debut feature, In Camera. The director and star cast members will join us on stage after for a Q&A, including actors Nabhaan Rizwan and Josie Walker. Come early for a ticket-holder’s and special guests drinks reception.

Gala Closing Night Screening
An unexpected incident of a snow leopard breaking into the sheep pen of a local herder and killing nine rams not only causes a stir in the family, but also attracts a TV crew into the village.

Children & Youth Showcase
Come and enjoy this selection of short fictions and animations from our youngest filmmakers who submitted their films in the Under 13 and 13 to 18 categories. Prepare to be delighted, thrilled, amused and entertained by this eclectic selection that surely denotes the film industry has bright new stars beginning to shine through. Content warning: some shorts contain swearing, blood imagery and violence and may be unsuitable for under 12s.

The screening packs a punch and is a great way to see a little bit of everything and celebrate Oska Bright Film Festival 2024. This a relaxed screening and there will be a Q&A with some of the filmmakers after.
